||Hotspot: Flash Company is a Hartlepool / Wolviston
based trio performing traditional and contemporary songs. The band
consists of accomplished vocalists Breffni Martin and Jan Spencelayh,
now with multi-instrumentalist Paul Rodgers. Come and support local
talent. The trio will do two 25 min spots, leaving plenty of time
for floor-singers too.
||New Roots: Arthur
Coates is a young fiddle and guitar player from Insch
in Aberdeenshire who has been very busy as a member of several bands,
most recently "Tolquhon". A new solo album also demonstrates
his vocal talents. He's accompanied on this visit by Kerran Cotterwell
on guitar. The New Roots competition has provided us with some great
young performers in the past - remember Iona Fyfe and Kirsty Bromley,
for example. Come and hear how young Folk is thriving.
||Geoff Higginbottom An old favourite with a powerful
voice, Geoff serves up a great mix of songs with lots of choruses
and with great good humour. You can see and hear him online on YouTube

& Ingrid Temple return with
their wonderful harmony singing and a great selection of songs, many
of them Barrie’s own. Always great entertainment and great company.
Warner - a transatlantic favourite who has a huge store
of traditional American songs and tunes, many of which share their
roots with songs from these islands. Accompanying himself on guitar,
banjo and concertina, he is a charismatic performer who shares his
enthusiasm and quiet humour with his audience.
