||Hotspot: Steve Lane - One of the mainstays of the
Club, Steve is an accomplished singer and guitar player. We may also
hear his hurdy gurdy. His repertoire encompasses traditional and very
good contemporary songs, including some of his own.
||Alan "Fitzy" Fitzsimmons - perhaps most
widely known as one of The Keelers, singing top harmony, Fitzy has
a great Tyneside voice and is one of the North East's greatest interpreters
of traditional song. He also has a great knack of putting fine tunes
to songs and poems.
||Tony Wilson - Return visit for an old friend of
the Club - a folk hero with a cheery face and a wealth of songs and
stories, accompanied by lively guitar, mandola and banjo. (Find
Tony on Facebook)
Miles is a regular visitor. Always entertaining, he's
an engaging singer who puts across traditional songs and a few of
his own in a relaxed style, to the accompaniment of English concertina
was last with us as part of Granny's Attic (a great night).
He's increasingly highly regarded as a solo artist, both as a singer
rooted in the traditions of the British Isles and for his mastery
of melodeon and anglo concertina which are used for rhythmic dance
tunes and for sensitive, sometimes intricate accompaniment to the
songs. His visit promises to be one of the highlights of our year!
